Edoardo Aruta (Roma, 1981) vive e lavora a Roma.
Edoardo Aruta (Rome, 1981) lives and works in Rome.
Edoardo Aruta graduated in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome; he ended up his studies in 2006 since he has got the teacher training in Plastic Arts (Academy of Fine Arts, Rome).
Edoardo Aruta’s practice is based upon the examination of the phenomena underlying our everyday life, from the relation between people and “objects” to the possibilities of exploring real as well as fictional significances around them. He scrutinizes the varied nuances of reality, which reveals itself developed on multiple levels of potential appearances and interpretations. His sculptural body of work stands out through the artist’s experimentation with industrially produced materials such as bitumen.
Edoardo Aruta has exhibited also internationally, with a solo show 750/428 Thz, Croxhapox Gallery, Ghent, Belgium. The main group exhibitions include: Post-Production.it, travelling exhibition at the Centro Cultural Borges, Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Franklin Rawson, San Juan, and ArteBA09, Buenos Aires; Micromega, l’arte della meraviglia, Halles Saint Gery, Brussels, Belgium; Artemisia 2008, Opera Bosco, Calcata (VT), Italy; Arte nella Natura e la Natura nell’Arte, Villa Torlonia, Rome, Italy; SEME, ArtTrack Gallery, Ghent, Belgium; Tra-Monti 06, Rione Monti, Rome, Italy.
